Breathing Easy: The Key to Healing Post-Viral Sinus and Congestion.

From Congestion to Clarity

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about unprecedented changes in the way we live our lives. One of the most significant impacts has been on our health, both physical and mental. As we learn more about the virus, we are discovering that it can cause a range of symptoms, some of which may persist even after the infection has cleared. One of the most common complaints reported by COVID-19 survivors is post-viral sinus and congestion. In this article, we will explore why this is happening and how ear candling can be a huge benefit.

Post-Viral Sinus and Congestion

When you contract a viral infection, your body’s immune system responds by producing a range of symptoms. These can include fever, cough, sore throat, and congestion. In some cases, the virus can also affect the sinuses, causing inflammation and blockages. This is known as sinusitis.

Even after the viral infection has cleared, some people continue to experience sinus and congestion symptoms. This is known as post-viral sinusitis. The symptoms can be persistent and may last for weeks or even months, it can also be retriggered at a latter stage. In some cases, post-viral sinusitis can lead to other complications such as ear infections, headaches, asthma and Ear, Nose & Throat ENT issues.

Why Does Post-Viral Sinusitis Occur?

There are several reasons why post-viral sinusitis occurs. Firstly, the virus can cause inflammation in the sinuses, leading to blockages and a build-up of mucus. This can make it difficult for the sinuses to drain properly, leading to congestion and pressure in the head.

Secondly, viral infections can weaken the immune system, making it more difficult for the body to fight off secondary infections such as sinusitis. This means that even after the initial viral infection has cleared, the sinuses may still be vulnerable to infection.

Finally, post-viral sinusitis can also be caused by changes in the environment. For example, if you have been spending a lot of time indoors, the air may be dry, which can irritate the sinuses and make congestion worse or you are in an area that has lots of allergens in the air.

How Can Facial/Ear Candling Help?

Candling is an alternative therapy that has been used for centuries to treat a range of conditions, including sinusitis. The therapy involves placing a hollow, cone-shaped candle on the sinuses and/or into the ear. The heat from the candle creates a vacuum that draws out wax, debris, and other impurities from the facial sinuses and ear.

People report that it provides instant relief from sinus and congestion symptoms. This is because the therapy can help to clear the sinuses and improve the flow of air and mucus.

Ear candling may also have other benefits, such as improving circulation, reducing stress, and promoting relaxation. However, it is important to note that ear candling should only be performed by a qualified practitioner.
